Physical Therapy Services

Northwest Hospital offers comprehensive, customized inpatient and outpatient physical therapy services, provided by licensed physical therapists.

Our inpatient services include acute care and sub-acute rehabilitation provided to hospitalized patients in our medical and surgical units.

Outpatient services include general orthopedic therapy, sports therapy and post-surgical rehabilitation.

General orthopedic therapy includes comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions using manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and other methods. Conditions may include those resulting from motor vehicle accidents, work-related or repetitive use injuries, or general weakness and chronic pain.

Sports therapy is geared toward activity-specific rehabilitation for recreational or competitive athletes.

Post-surgical rehabilitation is for patients recovering from a variety of surgeries, including those of the extremities or spine, arthroscopy, total joint replacement, ACL reconstruction or rotator cuff repair.

Neurologic rehabilitation, or neurologic therapy, is geared towards gaining the greatest amount of functional independence possible using therapeutic exercise, our Easy Street® environment, functional mobility training, family/caregiver training and other methods. We treat conditions including, but not limited to brain injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and post-stroke/CVA.

Our treatment methods include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, spinal stabilization, neuromuscular re-education, isokinetics, sport KAT balance training, Swimex aquatic therapy, electrical stimulation, spinal traction and heat/cold therapy using an ultrasound/Cryocuff.

We offer a variety of special outpatient physical therapy programs, including:

Most outpatient programs are located at our Northwest Outpatient Medical Center facility. Physician referral is required for most programs.

In addition to our treatment programs, we provide a fitness center at the Northwest Outpatient Medical Center for strength and cardiovascular training.
